Burnley - ASB Driver

Good afternoon all,

Hope that the weather is treating you more favorably that the driver of this Lamborghini who decided to make Burnley his race track

This individual decided that Burnley was his racetrack and that he could drive at dangerous speeds throughout the town

Well this was not too hot to handle for the Burnley Neighbourhood Policing Team who issued the vehicle with a warning under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act of 2002

Unfortunately for the driver, someone had already been issued a warning in that vehicle so it was seized by officers

S59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 allows Police and Police Community Support Officers the power to issue a warning to a driver and vehicle driven recklessly or off-road without authorization or in a way that causes public nuisance. 

If a driver and/or vehicle receive 2 warnings within a 12 month period, the vehicle will be seized

It does not matter if the driver of vehicle is aware of the prior warning, or if they were not the driver who received the first warning. 

S59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 also affords the following powers:

Section 8 of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 allows seizure of cars without a warning 

Although the weather is beautiful, it is no excuse for driving a dangerous manner

Please be advised that we have and will continue to take action on this irresponsible manner of driving

However if you chose to ignore this gentle advise, please make sure its as easy as the driver made it for us in this bright orange supercar
